I agree. I have a couple of fork mounted lights and they just seem to give me a much better view of the road than the bar mounted lights.

Nitto has something like that too:

I know the nitto can't lift a light meaningfully above my ortlieb bar bag and also can't hold the bar bag below the regular bar w/ if that's where I leave the light. I don't know about the CF version.

What about something similar, but wider. I've seen them on the back of trikes. They reach further out so that the lights can approximate the width of the trike.

I purchased the Cateye first. It is a wired model, which I turned to after having bad luck with several wireless models.

I later purchased the Garmin because I wanted the GPS and heart rate functions. Because I already had the Cateye (with cadence sensor), I saved money on the Garmin by not buying the Garmin cadence sensor.

I continue to use the Cateye in combination with the Garmin because the Cateye has a cumulative odometer feature (which the Garmin lacks), and the Cateye is wired (and hence very reliable). Also, I don't need to worry about charging the battery.

Cheers.
