My turn for (small) accident news
ps: consider I'm in UK, so we drive on the wrong side of the road
Ok, so now it's my turn. Yesterday on the way home, was a few miles away, 6:25pm, dark out there, but plenty of street lights, busy very slow moving traffic. Approaching a cross-junction from the south. The junction is such that a car cannot go from east road into west road as it's an illegal maneuver (it's not a straight forward cross junction, from the east road, you can ONLY turn left).
Anyway, a car was making an illegal east-into-west, and was creeping forward. I was doing 15mph and ready to pull the brakes if driver didn't stop. The driver DID stop. As I got closer, she decided to start creeping forward again.
She hit my right-side chain stay. Haven't had a good look at the damage, but rear derailler seems to be the main thing that got hit. This got pushed into my aksium wheel and broke a few spokes. I managed to NOT fall down. She looked around, then decided to zoom off.
There were three teenage kids there, saw the whole thing. THey started staring at me and I shouted to them to get the license plate. They got a part of it. Three other people came forward who saw the whole thing, got some contact details, but not one else got the license number. I'll go there shortly and see if the driver parked up anywhere and take a few photos.
If I find her, maybe I can get her to pay for the damaged parts.

Man, if she were that close to you, it is surprising that she did not knock you over. Furthermore, why did she not stop? Did you say anything to her before she left? I think she should pay for whatever damage was done and a bit more. There were plenty of witnesses to prove the accident so you should have any problems with a settlement. The next big deal is to find out the rest of her plate numbers. I am sure the department of motor vehicles will be able to assist you based on the first few digits and a description of the car. Good luck and fight hard!

Hey buddy. Glad your okay. Good luck with nabbing that jerk! I about got hit twice on my first commute home from work the other day. Some of the motorists out there are just not very cautious. Be careful.
