BOLO BOLO BOLO BOLO

Be on the lookout for a 10-speed cassette with a bigger cog number--bike comes with 25, I can find 27 and 28 and that's about it for a cursory search. Hardly worth $100 for a 12% easier climb . . .

Geezz, I guess your blanket statement covers my blanket statement. Congrats on feeling better about yourself.

I wouldn't be to sure about that. One word "China". I'm not going to take the time to explain other than China to me means poor quality. I usually put it back on the shelf if I see "Made In China" on it.

I'm sure they make junk products but went it comes to bikes, cars and gelato (what we americans call ice cream) I give them the benefit of the doubt that it is of excellent quality. BTW: this is the short list of quality Italian products. There is a thread here on BF that list many others that you would have a hard time arguing about.

And I imagine you'll want to split hairs and tell me the frame was not made in Italy and so on and so forth but you'll be wasting time. I know the frame was most likely made in Taiwan given the 7000 Aluminum frame.

Ok enough from me exept to say all this explaining is what I was trying to avoid in the first place when I used my blanket statement but instead of reading between the lines you have to flame my statement with your own statement. Don't worry I can read between the lines on your statement but it somehow seemed you wanted a explaination from me. If not, then I guess you just had to pi$$ all over someone today.

Corsa Pics

Here's a few close-ups taken from the Walmart site. And before anyone says anything, yes the front wheel was put on reverse (skewer is on wrong side of bike). Also, I don't think I'd last to long riding a bike with a seat position the way its pictured. This all should not be a reflection on the bike itself but of the person that didn't know what they were doing during final assembly.

Wow, sounds like big $$$--I think I would get rid of the corsa before I would start pouring that kind of money into fundamental changes. What does FTW mean?

As far as my ideal bike, If I am really honest with myself, the Kona Jake (with upgraded components) or a titanium frame cyclocross bike like this but with triple crank:

$30-40 for a new rear derailer, $40 for a new cassette, and maybe you need a new chain? Anyway, big bucks? Nope. FTW = for the win

crank those tires to their MAX - 85?

you can use the $10. Schwinn computer that Walmart sells. You might have t use your own zip/strips

sounds like your beater bike - with it's triple crank can do a better job on the hills. are they steep or just long?

Wow, what a loser of a response.

Ever wonder why "Fiat" is referred to as "Fix It Again Tony" ? The Italian manufacturing market is not known for all being of stellar quality. If you wanted to take it as a personal affront, then so be it, but the statement is just as it read... Where it's made has no bearing on it's quality. The rest is just mindless drivel on your part.

Lots of hills. Go to https://maps.google.com/

enter Wahiawa, HI into the search box.

when the map comes up you can switch to satellite or terrain view by clicking on the boxes at the top of the map. Zoom out for the big picture. I live right outside of and bordering Wahiawa State Freshwater Recreation Area.

I mean real life pics, you goofballs. I've been to walmart.com and almost picked up one of these babies myself. Until someone here produces real life pics, this is a phantom thread.

This is very interesting. It would be fun to find out just what would work best--when I get time I will write it up and post on the Mechanics forum, asking for best recommendations--change crankset to triple, or change to mtb cassette and rear der. I'm leery of compatibility issues, though. This is a 10-speed system and the largest mtb cassettes are 9-speed. Spacing issues, width, shifter, and all that.

If I were in love with this bike, it would be a different story; but I'm not (maybe it's the sucky paint scheme). Since I have no particular desire to keep it, I think it's best to keep it intact and get something that's better suited to my needs.

Thanks for the interesting thoughts, though

Actually, the SRAM XX are 10speed mountain. That said though, just the cassette isn't far off what you paid for the bike!!
