while i was traveling around in Japan visiting my friend i came across a bike store with alot of cool things, first thing i noticed was these underwear's thats quick drying and sweat absorption so i bought some and tried them out, only word is WOW, tho i wish i bought more to bring back with me to cali . has anyone tired of heard of these?

i found a picture of it on google. here you go
https://ysroad-koshigaya.com/betones02.jpg

some other facts i found out is

・Absorbs sweat and dries quickly.
・One size fits all.

Manufactured utilizing 3-D seamless knitting machine
The double-blend of nylon-polyurethane achieves a perfectly calculated fit!

thanks for sharing. I have something that looks like that but they are 100% synthetic and I don't think mine are absorbent. I wouldn't use mine for athletics either. for cycling I wear bike shorts or my new trisuit

if you find the product here in the US - please let us know. REI has some athletic underwear I've been considering for a while. looks like a brief without a lot of extra material in the fly area - and the rear actually covers the rear without any creeping and readjusting.

I like shorts like the ones you pictured but the short legs tend to ride up on me so for GYM work and running I prefer something longer in the leg - or no leg at all like a brief, but I haven't found a brief that suits me yet. gonna get those REI units, I think

thanks again for sharing - so didn't you buy a couple for yourself? did you borrow someone elses?

How can it both absorb sweat and dry quickly? IMO the reason things don't dry quickly is simply because they've absorbed too much water and the fact that evaporation takes time is unavoidable.

But yeah, nylon is pretty good at not absorbing water, is darn soft, and is apparently easy to manufacture without seams. But what advantage do the Betones have over simply cutting off a pair of 50c women's panty hose? What is the percentage of material in the Bentones? % nylon, % polyurethane, anything else? IME elastane/lycra is the killer when it comes to quick drying because it wicks up water (although a little is necessary because it allows there to be less overall fabric...even a flat stone slab can hold a lot of water if it's big enough).

But too bad you didn't post this last week because I just had a parcel arrive from a Japanese forwarding company (which purchases goods at retail and forwards them outside Japan) and I could have had them include a pair of these for me to try.

Ok I just looked these up and they are 92% nylon and 8% polyester:

As I said, lycra is a killer, so I can definitely believe that these are pretty ideal.

Although I doubt they're garner much acceptance among cyclists. Most cyclists are more interested in making their arses look good than actual performance and for that you need lycra.

this is the thing to wear. you can wear them under anything. the lining provides some cushioning but that's not why it's there - it's there for the perspiration and ease of movement. there are also regular looking shorts that have the proper kind of lining. no one willever know you have them on so relax about the whole spandex thing. you don't have to be a roadie to be comfortable. spend the money to get the xpensive ones - you won't regret it.

these longer ones look interesting but I'm not familiar with them:

Please do.

My experiments indicate that elastane/lycra compromises quick drying. Whether there are alternate biomechanical benefits from compression I haven't tested, nor do I care because for me dryness is the primary objective. Moreover, my experiments also indicate that cyclists are generally ignorant yahoos who don't know how to think for themselves, so if my experiments with lycra violate conventional cycling "wisdom" it's still consistent with the overall observations.

aren't you a cyclist? why are you saying such crummy "general" things about people you don't know? I certainly didn't choose my bike shorts for looks - heck I wear other stuff over them!

why is a maniacal murderer your avatar? what kind of sociopath are you?
