Moved so now a new bike?

Reason for the post.

I was communting with a 10k ride one way. Recently I moved to a different city ( not by choice, buy cost. ) I'm looking at a 28k ride one way..I don't plan on doing this daily..yet. But I need to change my ride. I currently ride a Giant 780 mtn with 1.25 slicks..rolls nices. Just too heavy to do such a ride now.

My local shop has a few specials on and the below bike is listed for 1199.00 which is in my price range.

Question. Is theis a good bike for such a communte..with the intentions of communiting 3 times a week. And is the price reasonable.

Thanks all for any input.

Looks nice. How flat is your new commute though? If its hilly then you may want to look into having one with more gears.

It's a pretty bike but seems like a lot of money for a fixed gear.

95% of it is flat..would I be better of not getting a fixed gear. I'm looking for comfort as well as a fast bike.

The website says $785 which seems more reasonable for that bike.
