I used Goretex socks more than 10 years ago when I lived up north in CT for the cold and of course cold rainy days. When I would put on my wet cold shoes for the ride home, I felt the cold of the shoes but my feet stayed nice and dry. Down here, I would just use them with my sandals for the cold during the winter.

Thanks for posting OP.
I live in FL too. This rain has been quite odd. I work in a professional setting and cannot arrive drenched and embraced with water.
I am going to look into the suggested posted. Thank you to everyone for the ideas.
This really helped me because I have been quite lazy about researching.

Nice Rain Gear.
Nice rain gear, don't forget sunscreen..Nothing to get wet..I did the World Naked Bike Ride in 2005 in Saint Petersburg, Florida. We had 24 riders and about 14 cops waiting to arrest us if we took off our G-Strings. Ladies had to wear them and pasties also....But that is a whole different story I could tell..Cheers.

In Florida it still gets cold. It was in the 30's and 40's a few weeks back. It usually doesn't rain below 50 but at 50 it is cold when the wind blows. Even in the 60's it is still cold for me..If it stays in the 70's then that is nice. I just want to be prepaired. I was wondering what others were doing? Cheers..

It rarely rains when it is cold here. So in winter I wear winter riding clothes and don't worry about rain. In the Summer you will ride home in the rain nearly every day. I wear Shimano sandals - no socks, and the rain feels great on my bear toes. I wear bright lime green sleeveless dry weave top I bought at Target, and bike shorts. The rain feels GREAT when riding home in August. You want it on your skin. The only rain gear I have is fenders and water proof panniers.
