i like the Charge Mixer. i'm sure when it becomes readily available, Charge will drop the 8 speed alfine for the 11 speed. it's got a flat bar, not drops. but it is steel and it does have disc brakes.

I'm digging the Novara drop bar Buzz. Other the then the IGH it is close to what you are looking for. Wish it has a 36spoke wheel is my big hang up and I''d like a 63cm frame.

Traitor also makes a nice Disc drop bike but again no IGH. Unfortunatly 59cm is as big as it gets with them as well. WTF is up with that?

You can buy the Ruben as a frame only and build it to spec.

I think a Surly Big Dummy would be great, with a 100W light/sound system, lasers, and one of these:

I'm pretty sure I found my dream commuter in the Surly Long Haul Trucker.
That's not going to stop me from also acquiring a Felt F95x at some point as well. But the Trucker does everything well.

1. why settle for 11 when you can have a proven 14 speeds? (Ok, i know the answers, but on a dream bike, one may as well dream)
2. my "drop bars" are modified bull-horns made by BikeFriday that replicate the riding-on-the-hoods-feel of my old Ultergra brifters; however, per Rohloff twister, among others Tune makes a compatible drop bar. It's no trigger, but then again, i can easily shift upwards of 6 gears either way in a second; of course single shifts are also no problem.
Steel Salsa frame (09 La Cruz)
Avid BB7 Disc brakes
and like d2create mentions, i built it up myself.
last image is with weekend touring panniers after pass hunting up McKenzie pass in Oregon (Dee Wright observatory at the top of the pass).

And... um... what exactly would you do with it on city roads with 30mph speed limits and 50/60mph highways? I think I'd rather ride a bike, more fun.

Dream commuter? I'd have a small stable of steeds:
One for fair weather days/light loads - tighter wheelbase, minimalist fenders and rack, sporty geometry, singlespeed belt drive, 25-28mm 700C's.
One as my daily "go to" bike - randonneur-cx type geometry, full fenders, discs, tubular rear rack, belt drive IGH, 32-35mm 700C's, internally wired generator lighting
One as my snow bike - 29er version of a Pugsley style bike. Belt drive, IGH, discs, flat bar with hand covers. Big-ass studded snow tires.
Winter alternate (a very close contender) would be the Utah Trikes "Quad" with inboard Alfine drive and posi-trac axle, decked out with 24" rears and studded snows.
