I need a little help on tires here

so i will attend a 110 kilometres ride with my dad in 2 weeks (only me and him) and most of the path is made out of gravel, in fact only 17 kilometre of those 110 are paved.

he's riding a Marin road bike and I have fear his 700x23 kenda will do like my michelin did, bust open because of gravel cut.

can you recommend me/him a good set of 700x23 or 700x25(maximum size here) for rougher roads and good puncture resistance.

btw im from Québec province so price are normally inflated x1,5

Thank you

Mario.

Yeah, specialized armadillos -- those things are tough as hell. People complain that they are heavier and ride rougher, but I personally think their advantages outweigh this.

23 mm tires are rough on anything but pavement though....if you have no other options to run larger tires, you might get away with slightly lowering your tire pressure too....but this depends upon your weight, load, how you ride, etc. A lot of the crushed gravel trails I've ridden are rough, but lack pot holes and other huge bumps that can pinch flat your tires.

Ditto! I run the 37mm ones on my touring bike right now and love 'em! Funny you chimed in about them.
