MA commuters
Greetings! I'll be starting a new commute soon, from Roxbury out to the Waltham/Weston line, and was wondering if anyone has routes they would recommend. I've "commuted" within Boston for a number of years, but it has never been more than 8 miles or so round trip. Looking forward to having time dedicated to logging more miles.

When I go out west toward Waltham (usually on weekends though), I usually take main roads such as Rte 20 or River Street out of Watertown Square; Belmont out of Cambridge to Beaver Street, or to Trapelo Rd; Comm Ave out to Auburndale and then Lexington St to Moody St in Waltham; or Comm Ave just past Rte 128 to River Rd. Of course if you want to add miles to your heart’s content, you could go way north or south of Waltham and then backtrack. I similarly go way east or west of Norwood and then backtrack. Besides miles, that adds a lot of variety to the ride.
