I bought this combo for my wife's bike and these lights are great bang for the buck, even at the regular price! At 24 bucks that's a smokin' hot deal; the MSRP on the PB Website is $54.99! Get 'em while they're hot!

Not bad. The cheapest I can find in USA is $37.50 from Universal Cycles. MEC prices often make me wish I lived in Canada Unfortunately, shipping to USA often sours these deals

The same is often true when shipping from the States to Canada. Too bad NAFTA doesn't apply to shipping as well as goods.

Unfortunately, the front headlight is only the 0.5 W version, not the 1 W or 2 W versions of the Blaze. As the MEC reviews note, the 0.5 watt version is not much of a headlight.

Nope, it isn't. Works okay as a flasher but I'm looking for another light to replace mine. Still, not a bad price since the blinky usually runs about that much by itself.

For around the $50 price point to can get the 2W Blaze front light and the Radbot 1000 for the back at MEC.
It is the same setup I am running on both my bikes and my wifes.

Even the 1W isn't much of a headlight, if you're looking for a light that actually illuminates the ground in front of you. But for a "be seen" light combo, it's not a bad deal, and probably adequate for cyclists who only ride on well-lit streets.

I understood the 1/2 W light to be a "be seen" only light... I figured that would be a given in this forum. Indeed, when my wife is coming home after a 3 to 11 shift with her 1/2 W light on the strobe setting, I can clearly see it flashing from the corner where she turns and that's 350 meters (1148 feet) away. Her commute is on well-lit city streets so the PB light is ideal. I have the 1 W Blaze on my bike and it's a "be seen" light as well. If I needed a light to see by I would expect to pay at least $100, but for any new commuters (or seasoned ones that need new lights) that are riding on well-lit streets this combo is hard to beat.

BTW MEC also sells the PDW Radbot 1000 for $17.50 and it's on my shopping list. I was going to get a 2nd PB Super Flash, but since they're the same price, I'm gonna try the Radbot. I will be picking up another one (or two at that price) of the PB combos just to have around for replacement lights.
