Well, I'd like to think so. Anyone else see any wackos on their commute today?

This morning I passed a guy who was riding against traffic, no hands, flossing his teeth.

On the way home another genius was holding his infant on one knee while pedaling down the sidewalk.

:/ I thought this was going to be about drivers. I did see a kid riding a brakeless fixed gear on the sidewalk, no hands, feet out of the straps, approaching a slope with a light at the bottom. Plenty of texting riders and dog walking riders too

Today I saw an overweight "hipster" on an old ten speed riding on the sidewalk. His rear tire was completely deflated.

Yesterday I was stopped at a red-light on campus, and then some guy on his bike (who I guess was intending on running said light) who was also on his cell phone finally looked up at the traffic at the intersection and suddenly had to stop and dropped his bike. He caught it with his one hand that wasn't holding his phone and then he yelled at the person on the other end of the phone (with all seriousness) "you almost f*****g killed me!!!"

Idiots are a universal phenomenon, not local to one particular are or city.

A dude this morning wanted to go faster than me apparently, so he got on the sidewalk next to me, instead of just passing me on the clear road to the left, then shifted up and hammered the pedals, remember, on the sidewalk, nearly getting hit by a turning car in the process.

I guess that isn't too weird for l.a. though, that's just a dumb move.

I have seen some weird **** in this town though.. it's part of what makes it fun.

How about a guy in a chicken suit riding a beach cruiser no-hands on the sidewalk with a massive ghetto-blaster propped on his shoulder. It was a few weeks ago but it did leave an impression.

My weirdest so far was seeing two people strolling down the sidewalk while I rode into downtown... One of them in a full-on furry costume.

a chick in full kit/helmet pedaling near stalling speed on the sidewalk into a sea of pedestrians, acting like THEY were in the wrong <3

tarmac s-works, look pedals, nikes, ortlieb rolltop backpack. funny combo for a messenger bent on spending all day on the bike. pedal/shoe stuck out like a sore thumb given the bike

Isn't hipster and "X speed" an oxymoron, where X is more than one?

I see a lot of cyclists pass cars on the right, when the car has its right turn signal on. Yesterday, I saw one do it on the sidewalk, and almost get hit. He ( the cyclist ) was looking at me like I was crazy to be in the road.

This thread would be better with pics except I wouldn't want to see actual images of some of what's been described here.

I don't know. I think those pictures would be good. It's the nude cyclists in Philadelphia last weekend - you know some of them had to be fat and ugly!

I am proud to admit that I am "that guy" in my area. I have to ride in the breakdown lane, against traffic, for about a mile on my way back home after work. Sometimes I will ride sitting upright with no hands and swing my arms like I am running. It freaks out people that are driving. Quite funny. One of these days this will get me killed, but until then the road is mine.

I see strange things just looking out my office window at any given time, not just when commuting. Such as:

This maneuver is also great for overtaking other cyclists. Bonus points if you're playing "Eye of the Tiger" audibly on your music device.
