Visit the Winter Cycling thread, as well as https://www.icebike.org and, closer to your home, the "Edmonton Bicycle Commuter" website. And if you want more, subscribe to the Icebike mailing list (address available at https://www.icebike.org).
There are quite a few Winter riders on this list: commuters in Montréal (2 or 3 besides myself) in Ottawa and Toronto, as well as a few from Winnipeg and from Alberta (Calgary or Edmonton). There are a few bike-trail Winter commuters from Calagary on the Icebike mailing list too.
Oh. The Winter Cycling forum here has people from your neck of the woods too.

Yup, winter commuter over here. It's more peaceful, the kids are in school and it's more intense than the summer commutes. If you have the right gear, it's quite a blast.

Another one here. Check out the appropriately named "top 100 reasons to ride in winter" -thread in Winter Cycling. It lists about 200 reasons to "do that".
