shoes for power grip pedals?

I am using those grip pedals (platforms) like these. My problem is they seem to eat through my shoes like nobody business. The sole seems to tear up after a few months. Any recommendations what shoes work best? I've tried sandals in the summer, sneakers, regular street shoes.

Work boots? Something with a harder sole? Change to different, less aggressive platforms?
