Hanes, of course having a saddle with a cut out helps.
Not sure which ones I have, but when I ride, they tend to take awhile to dry.

Not sure if those were what I bought last year...but dang, they fit like a girdle or something. I saw similar complaints about various brands when I was looking for an acceptable replacement to my Devolds.

Different than what I have it sounds like. Mine are pretty much fit like tightey whiteys with legs. And no hole for the package

In the right lane
I highly recommend Ex Officio boxer briefs. I've tried the Target brand but didnt like them. These are almost worth the $25 each.

Here's another vote for Jockey midway boxer briefs! Their goMesh series are decent, and really other ones from them work well. I like their "performance" series as well. I usually get them at the outlets in packs of 2.

the key for me is to get long ones. The boxer briefs that go down my thighs a ways don't tend to bunch up at all and are comfy.
I like the stretch types and typically get ones without a fly.

I will started wearing these 5 or 6 years ago, if you ride in shorts with boxers on these are the ticket. Smooth and sliky, dry fast if you sweat, and keep you dry in the process. I still have some of mine from the original buy and they are holding up. I prefer to ride in surf trunks when it is warm or my Ibex knickers when it gets cold, but for trips around town, to the farmers market etc, that is in the 20 miles or less catagory, these witha regular pair of shorts does just fine.

another vote for the cheap target poly spandex blend "C" by champion boxer briefs. Nothing special, not expensive, and they work.
I don't recommend anything silk. Silk gets very cold when wet. My silk long underwear, bought for camping, is no good on the bike in the winter.

I use lined bike shorts but use athletic underwear for other sports, etc. looked for the units mentioned at Walmart but came up empty. got 2 pair at Target today $10. ea. so far I'm undecided
