1. What make/model is your bike?

Litespeed Natchez (with typical road racing geometry) bought as a frame

2. How long have you had it?

14 years

3. Where did you purchase it?

Excel Sports, Boulder

4. What accessories have you added to it?

Bebop clipless pedals (float like speedplay but with a 2-hole mount),
Magicshine headlight, Planet Bike Superflash rear light, rack held on by P-clamps and hose clamps, Arkel Commuter pannier, full-sized frame pump, Powertap, Garmin Edge 500, the usual roadie setup with bottle cage/water bottle/wedge bag with innertube and tools.

5. What accessories do you WANT to add to it?

I'm going to get NTP to add rack and fender braze-ons (the P-clamps aren't stable) and see if I can clear Gilles Berthoud carbon fiber fenders. Perhaps switch to a Tubus titanium rack.

6. What type of bike do you eventually want to purchase as your primary commuter?

When both of the kids get full time jobs I'll find a titanium frame builder to make a more appropriate road frame. Longer seat stays for more latitude in pannier placement, setup for long reach or cantilever brakes so I have clearance for fenders in inclement weather, S&S machine couplings so it's easy to travel with.

1. What make/model is your bike?

2009 Surly Karate Monkey
1980s vintage lugged steel Japanese "off" road bike with Campy hubs (about the only thing of true value on the entire bike).

2. How long have you had it?

2 years

3. Where did you purchase it?

LBS

4. What accessories have you added to it?

Clipless pedals, newt 2.0 light only.

5. What accessories do you WANT to add to it?

None. I liked it for what it was, realized that it didn't meet my expectations of a "do everything - Jeep-type bike."

6. What type of bike do you want to purchase as your primary commuter?

Surly LHT ordered and in route already. I regret missing my chance in 2009 to get a green/tan one because I'm now stuck with the black only. I will be happy with the LHT no matter what though - color aside.

1. What make/model is your bike?.........Kona Dew Drop

2. How long have you had it?.............. 3 months

3. Where did you purchase it?..............Oasis Bike Works (my preferred LBS)

4. What accessories have you added to it?...........Topeak Super Tourist Rack, Avenir Panniers, under-seat bag (holds flat kit and multi-tools, spare tube, spare light, masterlink, etc..), Planet Bike Hardcore fenders, Clipless Pedals, Topeak Roadmorph G pump, a couple of tactical flashlights for illumination (one bar mounted, one helmet mounted), radbot 1000 rear light and cheap target rear light, incredibell, bar mounted accessory holder (just call me captain dashboard!).

5. What accessories do you WANT to add to it?.............. considering winter tires, but thinking about investing in zip ties, instead. I'd think about better panniers, but mine are doing the job so far. Perhaps rain covers, though. More reflective stuff -- tape for the frame and wheels, iron on for ME. A trunk bag if I can bear to ride with less stuff. A cargo net so I can carry stuff on the top of the rack. Better lights. Something to add to my Captain Dashboard Collection. A new bike rack for my car -- for the other mode of my multi-mode commuting.

6. What type of bike do you eventually want to purchase as your primary commuter?.............I like my bike very much, and it makes a great primary workhorse commuter. I'd like to add a cyclocrosser to my stable, and recently I've been thinking how convenient it would be to have a folder so I could ride metro during peak commuting hours (I feel like a heretic!).
