2. How long have you had it? 9 months

1. Nishiki cro-moly mountain bike (made by Giant)
2. Had it about 6 months
3. I found it in a trash pile down the street, only missing the handlebars.
4. I added fenders, a rack, saddlebags, seat wedge, trekking bars, LED lights, toe clip pedals, bottle cages, anatomic saddle. Slick tires.
5. I want to find a better handlebar/stem combo, and replace the worn out bottom bracket.
6. I want an aluminum 700C road bike with either disk or drum brakes, and a 1x8 derailer setup or an IGH. Maybe an xtracycle?

1. What make/model is your bike? Frankenbiked 2010 Motobecane Outcast 29

2. How long have you had it? The frame, fork, rear wheel, IGH, shifter, and rear rack are about a month old. The rest of the bike varies from several months to 3 years old.

3. Where did you purchase it? For all of the new parts, the internet. The older bits are a mix of mail order and local bike shops.

4. What accessories have you added to it? Rear rack and panniers, lights, fenders, mirror, bell, saddlebag repair kit, 'cross brake levers, seasonal tires, and locks.

5. What accessories do you WANT to add to it? A dynohub.

6. What type of bike do you eventually want to purchase as your primary commuter? Actually, I'm pretty close to having my ultimate commuter bike (IGH, fat tires, racks and fenders, upright handlebars [with a secondary riding position]). Just need a dynohub, and maybe a front rack for some light touring, and I'll be done with the bike. Then it'll be time to move my serial upgrading habit to my trail bike, or to my cyclocross bike.

Front and rear Planet Bike lights, Airzound, RoadMorph pump, 2nd bottle cage, CatEye computer, Planet Bike fenders, and new tires if that counts (Michelin CiTY's - 35's).

5. What accessories do you WANT to add to it?
Not really accessories, but I'm planning on swapping out the barely working STI's (very old) with friction downtubes, and possibly swapping for a moustache bar. Also a chainguard would be good.

2. How long have you had it? 13 months

3. Where did you purchase it? Norris Schwinn, Johnson City, TN

4. What accessories have you added to it? Planet Bike front and back fenders, Racktime rack and Doubleit pannier, front and back lights, copious amount of reflective tape

5. What accessories do you WANT to add to it? A back light that mounts directly on the Racktime rack.

6. What type of bike do you eventually want to purchase as your primary commuter? I've been wanting a steel bike for a while now. I'd also like to have a hybrid with some good componentry, maybe like a Giant Rapid 1 or a Trek 7.7 FX. Not sure how much actual commuting I'd do with either. The Schwinn, while only $330, is a perfect beater commuter that seems like a glutton for punishment. If something happened to it, I'd probably try to find a steel replacement with upright geometry.

1. What make/model is your bike?
2008 Schwinn Trailway Hybrid (now heavily modded and upgraded)

2. How long have you had it?
Almost two years

3. Where did you purchase it?
Target (I know, I know...)

4. What accessories have you added to it?
Upgrades: wheelset, trekking butterfly handlebars, rigid fork (Surly CC fork), Shimano STX RC crankset, platfrom pedals w/ clips
Accessories: Topeak Explorer rack (used w/ a Topeak rack trunk or Axiom Lasalle panniers), PB Cascadia fenders, front rack, water bottle cages, mini pump, Cateye Strada computer, PB Superflash, PB rear blinkie, PB front blinkie (1 LED), 220 lumen Terralux flashlight on Twofish Lockblocks. I used a Mirrycle MTB bar end mirror until I swapped out handlebars. Now I use a Take-a-Look glasses mounted mirror.

5. What accessories do you WANT to add to it?
Clipless pedals perhaps. Otherwise, I'm happy with it for commuting purposes, and will be especially so after I get the new frame (see #6). I have thought at times about: dynamo hub/lighting and a larger frame pump. I also want to get another set of panniers and a small handlebar bag, but that's for touring, not commuting.

6. What type of bike do you eventually want to purchase as your primary commuter?
I am just weeks away from finally ordering a Surly LHT frameset, which has been the object of my bicycle lust for some time, from my LBS. It will be my everything bike (commuting, touring, tooling around town or on longer weekend rides). I have upgraded many components on my current bike out of necessity largely as time has gone on, so I will be swapping almost everything over from my current rig to the new frame. I will likely be replacing the following as part of that project either immediately or as soon as finances allow: bottom bracket, front derailleur, stem, brakes (Avid SD-7 V-Brakes).
