By car: 20 minutes, about 6 miles
By bike: 25-30 minutes, 7 miles
Figure an 15 minutes for packing the bike, cooling off/changing cothes and shoes at work
I look at it as a half hour excercise that only takes a few minutes out of my day. Also, I get to work awake and in a good mood instead of angry from dealing with the traffic. Way in favor of the bike!

One way times
Car : 25 minutes more or less
Bike: 75 minutes more or less
I commute about 14 miles one way. Unfortunately, I can only bike commute twice a week on average.

Bike: 8 minutes or 12 minutes depending on uphill/downhill direction (zoooom!)
Drive: 5-15 minutes depending on rush-hour traffic
Walking: 30 minutes
Public transport: Apparently a dirty word in Hawaii.

Biking takes more time. Its about the same as driving in the morning, but after work, I leave my desk at 3:30 and get home at 4:00, ready to do whatever when I drive. When I bike, I leave my desk at 3:30 and get home at 4:30 and need a shower before doing anything with the family.
However, I get an hour of excercise in, and on days that I drive I often end up not excercising (unless its a swim night). On Masters swimming nights, I end up with 2 hrs of cycling and 1.5 hrs of swimming instead of just the 1.5 hrs of swimming. Riding my bike has helped me lose weight, bring my resting HR down to 65-70 bpm, and get my blood pressure down from the highest acceptable blood pressure down to the lower end of normal (HBP runs in my family as does heart disease). Plus, I save $9 a week on gas
This from commuting 2-3 days per week, only 5 miles one-way (12 miles one way on swimming days)

Door to door times, including finding parking and/or getting changed:
Car: 1h into work, 1:15 home.
Bike: 1:05 into work, 1:20 home.
The disparity is 'cos the traffic is heavier in the PM along my route, which slows the car but not the bike, and it's uphill, which slows the bike but not the car.
