Lost my reason to commute, but I'll still hang out with ya

I was laid off a couple of weeks ago, so now I spend the mornings on the job search. Then I have a bit of lunch, take the beagles for a walk and then on the bike for a ride. I had just got a new headlight and gloves too. In my job search I think about, is this company to far to commute to.

That sucks. Do you think you'll have to move to be closer to a new job?

Lagbolt, get on your bike, head to town and start networking... try to connect with friends, ex-colleagues, head-hunters...

It's nice to hang out with the beagles, but the bike will also be a key tool in getting more work.

Welcome to the club.

Have you created a pseudocommute to get your exercise? The best part is that you can choose to ride where and when you like to go rather than where you must.

I've been looking for work since last June when I was let go. I now use the computers at my schools library to look. Not the same thing as commuting to work, but it gets me out of the house and in an environment more conducive to staying focused.

Sorry to hear. I was in the same boat for 6 months. I did lots of bike riding which helped clear my head and kept me sane so I could get myself out there and get interviews. Best of luck to you!
