It was a nice looking bag when new. However, after it gets wet a few times the colors run making the leather accents look dingy.

Depends on how much room you need. On my B-72 I have a $1 leather chain wallet from the thrift store I cut a couple slots in and used some old leather straps to hold on.

Fits a couple small adj wrenches, patch kit, and misc.

Acorn bag. I don't have a pic. I have the Medium Large. It is awesome. If I get the 2011 Casseroll I have been thinking about, a new Acorn front bag may be in order. I love the quality and that they are hand made by a wife and husband in CA.

I was going to recommend a Carradice bag, but those Acorn bags are nice looking too! Either one in the green or beige would not match your saddle but would compliment the color scheme of your bike well, IMHO.
By the way, how do you like your Soma?

I have one of the Carradice Barley bags that I have had for several years. I kind of have a love/hate relationship with it. It's kind of a dumb design, as you can see from this picture when you mount it to the B17 bag loops and the seat post as intended, your thighs will brush it during part of the pedal stroke. And the side pockets are almost horizontal with very loose fitting lids. It's so insecure I don't use the side pockets for fear the contents will work their way out and be lost on the road.

I also have this Carradice quick release thing, which is another strange piece of British "engineering". It's a fairly heavy steel frame that you mount the bag to and then it clips into a bracket mounted to the seatpost. This does get it back and away from your thighs and it's supposed to make it easy for you to unclip the whole contraption and drag it with you, but in a practical use sense it's really awkward.

(Yes, this is a different Carradice bag, but I didn't find a pic of the QR with the Barley.)

I'll wait for the Acorn bag. This Rivendell thing needs a couple toe straps to hold it to the saddle (I don't have any spares, so that's another fifteen bucks) and since the straps wouldn't be attached to the rollup there is not much to keep it from working its way out of the straps sideways and then finding its way to the ground.

For long brevets and big commuter loads I have a Carradice Pendle. It's fairly monstrous, and in combo with my Berthoud GB28 I can fit everything I need for a 400k in the pouring rain and still have spare room.

For JRA, I've got a Topeak Aerowedge with the straps and clips since their stock QR mount doesn't fit the B-17.
