I just got my REI dividend so I bought a Brooks B17 saddle in honey and Ergon Biokork grips. Also shopped at Rivendell and got those new SKS Longboard fenders and a Pletscher twin legged kickstand. I hope to get them in next week and then I can start installing. I'll post pics when I'm done. These will be going on my '10 Novara Transfer.

I hope you used your 20% off coupon on your purchase.

Vain, But Lacking Talent
I got my rather small dividend and proceeded to make the most boring purchase possible. Rain cover for my backpack, pair of wool socks and nikwax wash in treatment to hopefully bump up the water resistance of my "rain" jacket.

The Biocorks look niiice - do report back how well they work! And I woulda sprung for the V-O alloy fenders... I just don't like the look or sound of plastic, and it can crack under constant, all-weather use.

I'm thinking a a Halfdome 2 tent. Between my div and the 20% it works out to $58 off. Front rack and some cooking stuff and I have got my touring stuff bought. Last year I bought a Jet boil.

Well the Longboards are aluminum encased in plastic so they should be more rigid than typical plastic fenders. I didn't want bare metal/silver fenders (I got the creme colored Longboards) and didn't want to go through the trouble of painting them. I'll let you all know how they work out as well as the Biokorks.

The Brooks and grips are in. Stuff from Rivendell will be delayed, oh well. I'm also picking up a new handlebar so the bike will look a bit different overall. Looking forward to sneaking out to the workshop and getting it all installed. Probably won't happen until next week sometime.

I've been waiting for a nice day to take a picture of the bike outside with all of the new parts installed. It has been raining/snowing here on and off for the past two weeks or so...ugh. I have to say I really like the Pletscher twin legged kickstand and the Brooks is not as uncomfortable as I've heard it would be. The Longboard fenders were a PITA to install, but look nice and should keep the bike and myself dry. I'm glad I got the cream colored ones as I think they go well with the dark green. I also wound up buying the Civia Colfax bars (50 degree) to try a different hand position. They are beautify bars and seem comfortable with the Ergons. I had to perform surgery to the Ergon Biokorks due to not being offered in a Alfine/Nexus configuration. Nothing a little measuring and cutting with the hacksaw can't handle. I think it came out great. Here are a couple of pics I took with my phone while I was installing the parts. Not the best, but better than nothing. I'll ride it as it for a bit, but I think I might raise the bars a bit.
