Have you checked out Peter White's page on the subject? He has pics of the beam patterns and everything, and sells them too.

Supernova E3 Pro or, even brighter, Supernova E3 Triple. See beam patterns.

The IQ Cyo is a very good light and costs about $120. The E3 Triple is probably the brightest dyno light available, but costs substantially more.

In the OP's defense, I think the answers in the thread you reference were primarily based on the assumption that the typical road bike setup is more focused on "being seen" or "occasionally needing to see" than "very bright." That said, I agree there is definitely overlap and it would have been worthwhile for the OP to have read that first.
Seriously, what different recommendations have been offered here? Same Peter White link; same headlight recommendations = duplicate thread.

People recommending B&M IQ Cyo alongside recommendations for Supernova products, and you think such lights are "being seen" or "occasionally needing to see" types...?

Is there anyone here ever use Shimano dynamo headlight? I want to know how bright it is(I'm looking around for its light pattern but never found one.), if it not good i may have to ask local bike shop to order B&M for my bike.
P.S. Dynamo hub and lights is not popular at all here, so it really hard to see one operate on the road.

The Shimano headlight is ok, but not in the same class as the other lights mentioned here.

I picked up a wicked generic 7 LED front light at an LBS for 15$. here's what is looks like but that link is to a distributor in Canada so that's not really good to anybody outside of Canada, but there are heaps of generic dynamo lights out there that don't cost heaps. This light is good enough for city riding and some MUP use but it might not suit those with the most esoteric lighting needs.

I rode all winter with the Schmidt Edelux. After getting used to the road not being burning bright (was rolling with a magicshine and dinotte 600L before the dynohub) it was plenty to see with. The super bright lights just close down your iris due to the hotspots on the road anyhow.
The good dynohub headlights will not light up much more than the road however. So you'll tend to feel a little more closed in on dark nights with no other light sources around. I might try out the philips light if I were going to buy a new one today (https://www.xs4all.nl/~swhs/fiets/tes...n.html#Philips Saferide LED dynamo).

If anyone wants to go DIY, dig through these. It's not rocket science.
