There's a shop nearby that sells BioMega, rain city bikes. Never ridden one but I do ride a Dynamic that uses a similar Sussex shaft drive. It's a slightly different kind of ride, not unpleasantly so. If everything's connected properly (IGH cassette joint pulley!), cogs greased, parts torqued to spec., etc., etc., then it should be a nice, uber-low maintenance ride and a fantastic conversation starter. They're kinda expensive though. Dynamic can provide a similar bike for less IIRC.
