    LOL. That picture you have of NYC bike lane is right where I work, this is almost exactly where I get off the bike lane and walk across the 1st Ave Although your comments are a bit optimistic: "bikes, motor vehicles and pedestrian have their own space.", that's in theory only

    Well.... that's NYC. I understand that it's a fairly chaotic place compared to most so probably not the best example. I've rarely seen anyone park in the bike lanes in Madison and if they did they would likely get a ticket in short order. It is done in other counties and cities like Portland with good success. It's more a matter of treating bikes as a legitimate form of transportation rather then shuffle us off to the gutter.
