How long before you were able to get back on the bike?
I know it is a little soon to be trying but I tried to go out on my Bianchi today. Stiff knee and shoulder were extremely painful but I was very nervious around vehicles. Last time I was hit, it took me several months before I was able to get back on and ride. I don't have that option now. It is my sole form of transportation to work.
How long did it take you to get back on the bike and ride comfortably (between the ears) again?

Guy I talked to at WalMart said he'd been hit by a car 11 times.
There's a medication which blocks adrenaline - it would probably take away the worst of the anxiety stress? I don't know if it's prescribed for more than occasional use however. My wife took it when she gave a class presentation as she was deathly afraid of speaking to a group of people.
I'm more afraid of the rain than cars - well, the rain wouldn't scare me as much if the cars weren't on the road, of course. I'm hoping to try disc brakes before the end of the year.
