Sick kid and wife delayed my commute so I missed all the snow, it was gone when I finally got on the road a little after 11. So, typical wintery day, low 40s and cloudy. Annoying driver blocked x-walk connecting MUP to traffic island while waiting to merge.

Dear pansy-ass teenage cager,
It was real cute how you gave me the finger, just above dash level as you drove away. You gave me 3 feet, didn't honk, yell or anything. You clearly don't know how to intimidate a cyclist. You even had 2 teenage friends in the car who didn't participate at all, unless gawking with your eyes wide open and jaw-dropped is a new school thing I'm too old to understand.
Sincerely,
Wulfy

p.s. see you tomorrow, and the next day and the next day and the next day....

Got to work early, someone showed up with a key after about 20 minutes. My that time I had made tracks all over the yard and totally covered my brakes and derailers in snow. But it was fun to donk around!

Beautiful ride in this morning, feels like a Friday. The traffic was really light for some reason with no bad encounters. I'm going exploring this evening down to Castleberry Hill so will probably skip out of work early and take a long ride.

Uneventful ride in, except that my wife almost got taken out by a silver Acura RSX that barely missed me just seconds later. The funny thing is, we actually got ahead of said ******bag in just a few blocks. I was going to go over and bust a window, but I'm really a mellow guy at heart.

I had a great commute this morning (60% cycle path). Lovely sunny weather for a change.
I passed a fellow commuter who've I've seen all through the winter very morning. I'm glad it's nearly
spring now though.

btw, I've had two punctures this week.

40F, sunny, breezy. Great ride in. Weather gear consisted of windbreaker, ear warmer, cotton gloves, & sunglasses. Wore shorts. Working on the tan, baby!

Low 20s with a light snow the entire ride. Nice and pretty.
I had my 3rd low speed ice related fall. You would think I would learn after #2.... no... not I.
I was riding through Washington Park one handed eating a sandwich. Low and behold the light dusting of snow had hidden a sheet of ice. Tipped over at maybe 8mph.
Nothing is injured except my ego.
Besides that fall everything went well until I hit the southern suburbs. What a mess. Here I am hauling arse down a hill and notice up ahead that my lane (rightmost of 3) is disappearing under ice and snow. I then slow down to a crawl and notice that all the other lanes are disappearing. Consequently I walked my bike off the street onto a path and walked 2 blocks until it cleared up. Another path I use going up a steep hill was a solid sheet of ice as well. Combo walked and rode the bike slowly up the hill. Only 15 minutes late.

Bright, sunny, cold, and windy. A block away from my house I realized I hadn't put anything on my head under my helmet and my hair was still moist from the shower so I was a little chilly. But it's only a 20 minute ride so I survived.

Quiet at work today so I may slip out for a long lunch ride.

Yesterday we had the worst snowstorm in years. Traffic was at a standstill and there was too much snow to ride the bike. I had to wheel it to the subway and take the subway home (after waiting downtown for a couple of hours to let the rush hour pass... I had a couple of good martinis, so I'm not complaning ). Today the roads are flooded! Wettest feet I ever had on a bike!

And oh, you won't believe what I saw yesterday (before the snow hit) - a commuter on a unicycle! He was dressed like a commuter, carried a briefcase and was riding a uni. How cool is that?

I got up too late to ride in this morning. So drove home for lunch and rode back. The ride home was hard into 35 mph winds. But I felt good afterwards.

WOW!! That is some great statistics! You must be fortunate to live in an area with a mild climate. It has been cold, wet, snowey, icy, and cold here!

So my commutes have been non-existent...oh yeah I forgot, I've been retired for the past seven years...no job!!! Let it be known, there is a down side to being retired!

On the puncture subject, I have had 2 puntures on my conti gatorskins, the last yesterday according to my bikejournal i have done around 6500km its now starting to show signs of wear, with some large blemishes on surface ie, glass holes which havent gone through to the tube.

On What sort of distance should i be looking to change this tire, and would you go for the same or is there something else that is better

Ride both ways was fast and smooth. Rode the fixed gear, it's now the primary commute bike. I had to tighten the chain and adjust the chain tensioner. Should stay quieter now. I just couldn't get a couple of traffic signals to trigger today, and it was the second day off in a row that I ended up working. At least I got to ride.

Cold this morning! I started wearing shorts in last week and it was a bitterly cold 35*F outside. Oh well, spring is in the air.

Commute was fine, but I felt like I was in a mental fog the whole time. My body seemed to know what it was doing, but it seemed like mentally, I was "off" today. Must be the lack of sleep/coffee.

A bit chilly today. It shouldn't have been, but I decided that I didn't really need my windbreaker. I was wrong.

Perfect in Denver. 35 out, up to 60 later today. Nice dry roads, with a bit of overcast sky so the sun wasn't blinding me on the eastbound streets.
