    All-City Space Horse

Have you guys seen this frame? Haven't seen it discussed on here. Looks pretty good and is available in March for $550 as a frameset.

Clearance for 38s with fenders, rack mounts, full 4130, available through QBP, everything looks good to me but the Canti brakes...

    What do you guys think?

The Mr. Pink Road Bike also looks pretty good. Columbus Zona tubing and a little more expensive at $800 for the frame. Has clearance for 28's with fenders, hidden fender mounts, but no rack mounts.

Not sure about availability currently for the Mr. Pink.

-Also both bikes are available as completes but a little on the pricey side for the way they're spec'ed...

More than anything i'm glad to see companies making cool, new steel frames with vertical dropouts. All of the new steel frames seem to be set up for fixed or single speed.

These are going to be great bikes. The space horse fits nicely between Surly's
Cross check and long haul trucker when you look at the geometry.

The All City bikes I've seen out on the street are pretty awesome. I wouldn't hesitate to get one of these if it fit my needs. To be clear, this is one of the QBP house brands (along with Civia, Surly and others). QBP puts out some good stuff and is probably the best source for reasonably priced steel frames.

I've seen an All-City Big Block in person, and it looked to be nicely made. The Space Horse also looks great, but I'm not sure if the internal cable routing is a good choice for a touring/commuting frame that will likely be used in the rain. I don't care for the awkward bend in the fork either, but that's a minor complaint.

I was considering getting a Handsome Devil a few months ago, but I think I prefer the Space Horse. I'd probably be ordering one if I hadn't just picked up a vintage touring frame.

That's a total winner in my book. In fact, I'd happily ride either of them.

I think i'll be picking up whichever becomes available first. I think the black Mr. pink would look really good with the White Apex group, and rigging something up so I can throw a rack on the back.

I've got an All-City Big Block that I absolutely love. It replaced my Steamroller as my fixed gear road bike and is a much better frame all around IMO. I've looking to get a Nature Boy to race SSCX on (or a Traitor Crusade).

If I didn't already have a Cross-Check set up for commuting, I'd be really interested in the Space Horse.

If I didn't already have a Soma Smoothie road bike, I'd be really interested in the Mr. Pink.

Ok so it looks like the mr. Pink will be available around feb 20th, and the space horse in late march. While the space horse would be the more ideal frame for me with the rack mounts, I'm getting anxious to get a bike and am considering going with the mr pink(I think it looks better too).

I know there are options for mounting a rack with a clamp like this:
    http://www.amazon.com/Electra-Seatpo.../dp/B0030IG1VQ

I wouldn't be carrying a ton on the rack, just a change of clothes, iPad etc. How do you guys feel about rigging a rack up? Can it be made sturdy without looking awful?

Mark's Rack from Rivendell would easily work if you don't need a very large rack. Otherwise something like Salsas Minimalist Rack with P-Clamps would probably look fine. If you don't need the tire clearance of the Space Horse, I would definitely go with the Mr. Pink. Making a rack work on it would be worth the effort.

Any idea if this frameset can take downtube shifters? (ie. does it have brazed-on bosses for DTS)

    Thanks in advance

sure looks like they have cable stops mounted on DT shifter bosses, but I suppose there could be some other kind of boss under there. Too bad they seem to have almost no pictures of the bare frame anywhere

Designed in Minneapolis. The frames ride silky smooth (don't own one myself). Some of their dropouts are imitating the Hennepin Avenue bridge.

I was considering this as an alternative to the Rivendell I eventually got. The Space Horse looks sweet! Let us know how it rides if you get it.

... gotta love these names, eh? Who thinks of these names for bikes - Sam Hillborne, Space Horse, Moonlander...
Rivendell Sam Hillborne and Hunqapillar; Brompton M6R Sage Green; Salsa Mukluk 3 FAT Bike; Nerdy Academic; Nikonian; Wing Chun; and a Patridge in a Pear Tree.

I think a little spendy for what it is both for the frame and for the complete, but looks good. I'm not wild about the contrasting paint on the fork blades and around the dropouts though.

The press fit bb shell on the Mr Pink is a dealbreaker for me. Threaded bbs have their issues too, but they've been around forever.
