I wanted the simplicity of a regular seat post and the Brooks so i sold the Thudbuster post back to the LBS. The 29er wheels are so smooth rolling i see no need for suspension.

New pics!!!

Topeak Explorer rack installed, Cygolite, frame pump and blinkie lights! FYI, the Topeak rack is for a 26" wheel bike but it fits fine on the 29er with about 3/4" clearance.

Indeed. It's really a do-everything bike. And I bet the 50mm tires are super plush.

Those original tires like the O.P. has in his pictures are wider than 50, I think. They are really cushy and have great dirt traction. They are noisy for my commute (attracts dogs) and as far as I know don't have any particuar flat prevention, which is why I went with the Schwalbe Supremes on mine. They are still comfortable but they aren't nearly as good when the county gets motivated to freshly grade the gravel roads I ride on. :-( Luckily I live in a frugal county.

Installed my Schwalbe Marathon Supremes today! Love them so far. Didnt have any problems on some dirt trails with them either. They slide in mud but thats about it.

Nice! Did you wait until you were done riding in snow? I had an interesting time this morning but made it through what little snow was left from yesterday.

Thanks! I decided i didnt want to wear down the knobbies on pavement so i put the slicks on. I have my Rockhopper set up with studs for any major ice or snow.

Nice bike. I like how the geometry makes it easy to step over the bike. Would be nice for touring.
