Recommend bars and shifter rig

So my somewhat badass 20 something daughter has been riding FG/SS for many years, I have a sleek 21 speed (triple) cross bike, pearlized white, set aside for her when she visits. We've done wine country tours, etc., she has good skills for distance riding. She likes the cx bike, doesn't like the drops or barcons. She is a flat bar girl, perhaps a riser bar.

Looking for a cool flat bar set-up with thumb shifters I'm thinking. The Paul shifters look good, but somewhat pricey. I was thinking red anodized bars with a little rise and some plush grips.

Any recommendations on a bar-shifter set-up that would be both suffciently hip and functional for long rides?

VO has an off shore source for a copy of paul's Idea,
but there is a long ways between TW shipping and having in stock in MD.
so out of stock is common.

Paul's Manufacturing is in California, and so their overhead is what it is.

the 'falcon' ones are cheap, they work , microratchet
but dont have the ability to take any Indexed lever..

So that leaves you a straight bar Brifters, to match what RD
and 'speed' count is back there..

I like the Ergon Grips I got, check them out.

Thanks, yep ... I have Ergon shaped grips on a commuter..very nice indeed. Maybe I'll pop for the real thing, good idea. I think Paul's it is, I prefer to support a Cal manu.

Index is for mommies.
