Daily commute photo

With digital cameras so small and affordable, why don't we share pictures from our commute more often? I'll try to upload a photo as often as I can, here's the first one! (I hope it works...) Please upload, and submit a short description of the photo like I've done here.

Time: 7:22 pm
Location: Stockholm, Sweden
Description: Shattered showers the whole day, but not as I biked home. It had just got dark and somewhat cold. You can see the Stockholm Globe Arena on the pic, in the background of the quite recently opened bikepath.

Nope, from Nynasvagen, outside the city. So Ringvagen is located about a kilometer on the other side of the Globe.

What a coincidence, I had been planning to start a Commute Pic of the Week thread in order to promote carrying my digital camera more often. Anyway here is the first picture I've selected.

The is the Sammamish River, taken from a bridge just after I exit the trail that runs along it. You can see a bit of the trail to the right.

It's the Springwater Corridor in Portland, Oregon. I live 2 blocks away from an entrance, and ride it all the way downtown to work every day.

If you ride the other direction, it goes for about 20 miles away from town, although some of the path isn't quite as nice, but still better than nothing...

I can't get contact with my ftp server from work it seems, so here's another thumbnail, from my commute this morning. Cloudy but surprisingly warm.

This is my favourite part, downhill on the big bridge that connects the city (in front of me) with the near suburbs (that I bike from). Not me on the photo (I'm holding the camera!).

This is Stockholm, Sweden, for you who didn't read my first post.

Yes, do shoot! I live in Gubbangen/Enskede and work in Vasastan. So my commute is basically Nynasvagen, Gotgatan, Gamla stan, Torsgatan - quite a nice trip. I used to live on Kungsholmen before and then I biked to Kista once.

Having lived in Stockholm for few years in the past, I can say that's a nice commute route, specially Gotgatan and Gamla Stan, I just hope you use the very narrow streets....

My digital camera died in my bag on the way home today. So instead of a 4Megapixel shot i took this 0.1Megapixel one with my z1010. I think the darkness of the evening made it a bit crappier than it has to - I'll shoot some more on the way to work tomorrow, see if they turn out better...
Anyway, the weather was great this afternoon! Warm, no rain, scattered clouds and no wind - I just had to make a bonus ride through 'södermalm' on my way home :-)

The only "problem" with Stockholm is that there are not real hills, almost flat as a pancake.....

Pictures from yesterdays commute. Just to give a more accurate feel for Fall in the PNW I thought I'd post a drizzly gray day for a change. Second pic, is the evening ride home this time on the road. Finally a picture of one of many trees that are putting out berries. The Berries are clustered and more orange than the picture shows and are similar to holly berries. These aren't holly trees though, anyone know what they are?

It's mountain ash! They are flowering in Sweden too now.

Very nice pictures! I like so much to see what roads and bikelanes look like in other parts of the world. Yes, it's true!

Today I chose to bring my training clothes instead of the camera - I feel I can't take both since the camera needs its camera bag and probably would get quite damaged by a wet towel... I long to publish more Stockholm pictures for you!

This is bike path I take to work every day. (Didn't take those pics myself)

It ads 2 km to my ride, but it beats sharing the road with cars all the way through. The only sad part is when I need to go into the industrial area around where I work. There's an exit off a busy highway there, and lots of trucks/cars comming in. But the bike path I get to take makes up for it.

Thanks, I did some searches and it looks like it is Mountain Ash. There are a bunch of them all along the trail and they flower beautifully in the spring and of course these pretty fall berries.

I look forward to seeing your pictures of Stockholm, a city I'd like to cycle in some day.

Two pics from todays ride home from work.
This is Kista just north (ten kilometers or so) of Stockholm/Sweden.

yeah, i know the picture quality sucks but bear in mind they are taken using the camera on my cell phone.
