advice on non-slip modification of road shoes.

So I have these road shoes that I never use and figure I'd use them for commuting and/or spinning class. Does anyone know of a product that i can purchase or something that I can glue onto the heel so that it isn't as slippery on tile?

Deck tape, aka grip tape. I cover the bottoms of my shoes with the stuff.

Tape is a good idea. I will try that on mine. I usually use mountain shoes all the time but I have a pair of road shoes I rarely use for the reasons cited by the OP.

Check out your gym. Every spinning bike I've seen will accept SPD (mountain) shoes but not road shoes.

Great idea on the tape!
Yeah, my road shoes accommodate both 2 and 3 hole setup.

I'd eBay them and buy a touring or spinning shoe. But that's just me.

Got Pontoon side pieces on your SPD cleats on your road shoes?,
that will stabilize , and give you some traction.

All you need to do is get to a chair and then take off your shoes
when in the gym, in the spinning class.

Road shoes have a toe and heel traction patch..

Touring and mountain bike SPD shoes have the clear recessed ,
and the sole is more flexible for hike-a-bike

Road shoes tend to have a patch at the heel that makes contact with the ground when you walk in them. Cleat covers might get you a little more friction, too. They'll be less Fredly than taping your shoes, but maybe more obnoxious on a daily basis.

I use SPDs.
