Motobecane Fantom Uno or GT Traffic 5.0 bad weather commuter?
I'm looking for a winter/bad weather bike and narrowed it down (potentially) to two choices.
The GT is more of a hybrid, and $250 (+ $40 shipping)
The Motobecane is $400 and set up more like I'd like, but in either case I'd be swapping out for a Northroad style bar.
Anyone have any input? The price difference has me leaning toward the GT but I'm not that familiar with them.

I assume you are looking at the GT on Nashbar. That seems like a pretty great bike for the money (GT makes good bikes) and since you are going to put a Northroad type bar on there that bike would be easier to do that with. If I was going to roll with a singlespeed I would be having a hard time passing that GT up.

Yeah thats kind of how I feel. I'd have to do new brake levers + the bar, but it would still be less than the Motobecane. I wish they had sizing info on it, though I'm nearly 100% sure I'd take a XL.

Well, GT has their model line-ups archived back to '09 on their site (PDF), but I have a hunch the frame geometry hasn't changed between 2011 and 2012, so maybe just check out of the other Traffics on GT's site.

Here is a site that has the geometry for the 2011 Traffic 2.0 I would think they would be the same or at least pretty close as the 2011 Traffic 5.0.
https://www.wiggle.co.uk/gt-traffic-20-2011/
Here is a review of the 2.0 that might give you a better idea of what the 5.0 would look like.
