can you please!

an you all submitt Hello all, Can you do me a favor? Can you please put your town where you live in your profile? When ever someone makes a comment "here where I live" And I look to see where you are from. I think well I might have a better answer if I knew what town/ city/ state you lived in. I do understand some people are paranoid about putting that info on their profile

People put pictures of their bikes and don't say what it is or they post pictures of exotic places and never say where it is. Blows my mind.

I agree. I do not put my address on the web, and the occasional route maps I post do not show the exact location of my house, or place of employment. This is smart and prudent, but I have no problem with giving my region or hometown, and that info is often relevant to the conversation. I put San Diego in my profile because more people are likely to know where that is, than they would know the actual town near SD I live in.

I agree with CommuteCommando. A general area is sufficient but it's still nice to know where people are from.

Yeah that okay when people ask about a law or dos and don't some one always ask "where do you live" as in what state. And if some post a picture of something cool We can assume to it is from there home town. Thais if they have it in their profile. No I don't put my home address either. But I am not the paranoid type either.

My location hasn't been accurate for the past six months, but whenever my location is relevant to the post, I'll state it.

You live in downtown L.A.

I often find those who bang on about internet privacy are least good at it.

And those who don't, clearly neither understand sarcasm, nor make good social engineers.

(hint: I don't live in downtown la )

Sarcasm rarely comes across as such in text.

Once I knew where I was,
another time I knew as well,
in between I was somewhere else,
off and on a bicycle was involved.
Today I'm here, not there, later today I'll be north of here,
I'll post an update if things change.

It is usually good to be somewhere.

People obviously volunteer as much information as they want to, and that's good. but a question like, what kind of tires do you recommend for winter cycling depends on if you are in the Bay Area or in northern Minnesota. In general people like to know what't the climate like where you live, is it hilly or flat, urban or country. Often New England, Wisconsin etc is already enough.
