Need help with an alternative bracket for my U-Lock

Surely there has to be some other way?

If i put it here my leg will hit the lock.

If i put it here im worried the bumps in the road will break the plastic and i'll lose control and get hit by cars.......yes it's a bit pessimistic , but it's how i think

    Any help is appreciated.

For now i ride around with a backpack, and i keep my stuff in there...it's getting uncomfortable riding with a lock and 2 liters of water

When I don't use my backpack, I use two strips of velcro and strap the lock to the top tube and the seat tube. My legs don't hit it positioned inside the front triangle here.

Then I just store the velcro on the body of the lock when not using it.

The bracket that came with the lock was too bulky to put anywhere convenient on the bike.

'2 Fish' makes rubber block/velcro strap combinations to do the job.
