100 degrees!
It finally hit 100 F here in Grand Rapids. Yeah, I know, no big deal for you folks down south. But if you listen to the news folks this is the beginning of the end! So far I haven't seen the "fry an egg on the asphalt" story yet. 
By the way, it was a wonderful bike ride this afternoon!

Frying an egg on the sidewalk is old hat. The trend now is to bake a pizza inside a car, which a local pizza joint was featured on 'Good Morning, America' doing this past Monday.

I was actually surprised by the number of people out biking/walking this afternoon. Thought I would be the only one, 3 bicyclists and 2 walkers. Guess I wasn't the only one out enjoying the weather!

The high temperature has topped 100 here 6 out of the past 7 days, and it's forecasted to continue through the weekend. I'm sick of it!

I waited until it was over 100F to run today, so I set a personal record for running in higher temperature than I've ever done before -- 105F and not a lick of shade. I usually avoid the heat as much as possible but I am moving north so I may never get the chance to run in such heat again.
I thought I'd be the only nutcase out there. Nope, there were 4 other runners and a few on bikes and more than that walking.

In the right lane
We've had daytime highs near or above 100F for the last week. Seems like everyone just gets used to it. Lot of recreational riders early in the morning.

It was 105 on the 4th. Not surprisingly, there were few cyclists on the River Trail when I rode it in the middle of the afternoon.

High 90s and sometimes over 100 for more than a week here. But yesterday morning, I got out early and rode to breakfast at IHOP before it heated up. Mid-80s and I'm feeling very comfortable. No commuting for me in this weather - the morning's okay, but the trip home would be murder - but next week it's supposed to be cooler so I'll get back to it.

Connecticut has been bouncing between low 90s/high 80s and 100 degrees since June. It's only bad when the humidity is so high. Went for a recreational ride on the 4th though, and as long as you stay hydrated, you just end up with a stellar tan

High of 64 today. And sunny of course. Advance forecast says that it might hit 68 next week.
I love California!

Here is Southern California, it has been a weird summer so far. July has been June Gloom, meaning overcast and cool in the AM and into the 80's in the PM. Not that I am complaining just yet. I love my electric bill. However, I am sure that we will get our 100+ temps soon enough. It still does sizzle here.

Without the normal humidity it doesn't seem as stressfull, although it feels super hot. I'm ready for the forecasted cooldown next week.

I didn't mind the temps last week 90-95 with 20% humidity. I'm from Owosso (east of Grand rapids). This 99 + 60% humidity is for the birds (or maybe crocodiles).
