You read that right...three thousand lumens. It's a bit heavy, but I think with a good magnifying glass, you could use it as a laser.....
The FandyFire UV-S5 is a 3,000 lumen beast.
It's more flashlight than anyone needs, proving that more isn't always better.
But, it's cheap enough, so if you want ultimate bragging rights, this is the light to have.
One thing's for sure: the FandyFire UV-S5 makes every other flashlight -- and most car headlights -- seem wimpy.

Ooooohhhh! Ahhhh! I'd love to be able to through out that amount of light, but from the review, it sounded like it was a little bit of a hassle w/the batteries and all.

It can be mounted, somebody has mounted a DRY on a mtb bike. They used two mounts, one from the stem, the other from the handlbar. On a road bike, IMO, it would look out of place. MTB bike, IMO, you can make it work.

I run a lot of lums, in fact, I mount as many lums as I possibly get on my bike with out making it look out of place. But, I don't ride the MUPs or bike trails. I ride in balls-out 50mph traffic passing me at night. I wouldn't dare run my lighting on MUPs or a bike trail..

My nighttime rides are always on the Natchez Trace Parkway. This makes my Mi-Newt Cordless 150 seem a little anemic... 60.00USD? I'm in.

I think it must have something to do with the old lumen vs lux issue and who knows what else. I know nighttime photographs can be deceiving, but from the looks of it this doesn't seem much brighter than my B&M IQ Cyo dynamo-powered headlight I have on my bike now, which I know it's a lot fewer than 3000 lumen.
I've given up trying to understand all these technical details. I'm just glad that I have a good light now that doesn't ever require batteries.

I'm happy with my 2 150 lumen lights. Thats more light than I would ever have a use for. I also like being able to set one light on wide and the other on narrow to give me a spot up ahead and a nice diffuse light to see just in front and out ahead of me. Still, thats a good price for that much light.

Unlike most chinese lights with there silly high lumen claims this one is actually not to bad, still over sold but it actually puts out around 2000 Genuine lumens, this has been confirmed on flashlight fourms. In regards to Leisesturm that fact is simpley not true, while yes, a lot of these chinese lights are only putting out 400-600 lumens per LED that is all down to how hard they are driven, in actually fact if you upped the drive current on the driver of this, other than heat issues there is no reason this could not be putting out 3000 lumens +, XML emitters have been pushed further than that to...

If you are on the public roads its showing a lack of courteous sharing of the road by blinding oncoming traffic .
well designed Lights focus the beam on the road and not in the other guys eyes.

i dont really see a need for this light when I have a "2000" lumen light that is for sale on amazon. i have seen it as cheap as $20

Looks overpowered, unfocused/unsshaped, pretty bulky and unwieldy to me. Wonder what the battery life is and how hot it igets? Might try one for a flashlight.

I think it would be easier to look for a light made for a bike.
I have two:
The one on left side is flashing---alternates between one bulb lit and two bulbs lit. One is right is on low.

Yea, the no battery thing is amzeballs after going though at least 40 alkaline AA's on my cateye 5 led. I have a camera that takes 4x AA, and the cateye took 4 as well, but someone stole my old camera, so i was left with a charger & no batteries. Long story short, i now have 2x 4 AA rechargables (2 different ratings/cannot be mixed). My upcoming charity ride will require use of my 2 way radios, and guess what they take..... yep 4x AA each. Funny how things work out.......
But back to light in question........ my concern wouldn't be mounting it, as i'd just dremmel something out of a block of plastic or wood, but how to keep it aimed.. Last thing you want is have it rotate back & get blasted in the face with a portable sun at night.

Seriously. Anything over a thousand is way too much already. I've been blinded in the bike lane on the other side of a road with wide lanes and a turn lane in between me and the cyclist going the other way. This stupid constant escalation of light power needs to stop.

1. You're suggesting that the escalation of lighting power needs to stop.
2. You don't provide a solution.
3. The only way that works is regulation to prevent the free market economy from giving people what they want (more lumens).
4. You tend to dump on "socialistic" governmental practices.
I don't really see how you can say 1 and 2 without thinking of 3 automatically and your posting history suggests 4.
It adds a huge amount to the conversation, as you just realised why the StVZO was created, which you've dumped on in the past.
5. Don't tell me that something doesn't add to the conversation when you haven't thought it through.
