Not many of us ride to work, especially on a consistent basis, so it's not like there is competition for space inside. Working in a building at the top of a 15% grade seems to deter a lot of people from riding to work.
we have a grade as well of about 10% for the last km and it deters some people

also, we have a ton of angular buildings with overhangs that people chain/park their bikes under to keep them from getting wet. however, by my office there's a huge amount of competition for chaining bikes under the overhang, so I just chain it where I can see it from the window, when i need an inspirational second of freedom

Next Spring we will go back to Europe to visit for a couple of weeks. I'd like to work in a ride on the Mosel highway from Trier to Cochem, Germany during Happy Mosel Weekend in May, an event that clears the 144km road free of motorized traffic with Wine Fests in every village along the way. I've done it 3 times in the past and is probably the best all day ride I ever have done. Outside of that, nothing planned but local bike riding and watching lottsa movies from Netflix.

Thanx for asking.

We have a decent bike rack at my office. It's covered and located near an exit with a security camera.

At a now unoccupied neighboring desk.

ETA: My boss saw me come in with my bike for the first time today, me in a ratty t-shirt looking like a drowned rat due to the 90% humidity. Her comment, "Good for you!"

This pic is from a couple years ago when I parked outside my cube. Now they placed a cabinet in my spot, so I put the bike in my cube on the rear desktop.

I need to find more about that and convince the wife to do it - that is where her family and friends live. Lots of wonderful festivals in that part of Germany. They know how to have a good time along the Mosel!

That's not all - I've hidden the phone behind the monitor so I don't have to answer calls.

Pictures are strictly regulated where I work, but the building has a cubicle set aside for bicycles, there are typically 4-5 parked there on any given day.

I'm going to probably see if I can find a separate spot for mine once I get the fairing on it (recumbent) to keep people from scratching it up. The people here are pretty rude and cavalier about moving my bike around becuase I have a side stand on it, and I don't trust them not to bang it up.

I have many many of those seconds. 8-10 hours worth a day. Is that bad?

For some reason, I cannot see your pictures when I click on the link.

Fortunate to have bike lockers:

I took this pic a few weeks ago to send to HR, tired of the smokers setting up their break area next to the bike lockers.

By the broken light table at the back of the shop. I chain it around the support beams when the bay door is left open.
My "pannier" is an army surplus doctors bag tied to the rack with shoelace; this is my cheapo beater and I love it.

That's pretty cool. I do have one other guy at work who is on the fence about riding to work. He's a bit frightened by the traffic. So your co-workers share the same routes, or are they all separate ways/directions?

Help me out here, how do you get the images to post large like you folks have been doing?

First, your images have to be hosted on the web somewhere. I have my own dot-com, but most people use one of the image hosting services--Flickr, Photobucket, Picasa, etc.

Second, in the "Insert Image" dialog box, select the "From URL" tab, UNcheck "Retrieve remote file and reference locally" (this is the important part), then type or paste in the image's web address.

NOTE: Resize your photos to something reasonable first.
