Levis Commuter Collection
Levis Commuter collection
Anyone given these a try?
I've been looking for work/office friendly commuter clothes, especially pants.
My office dress code does not allow jeans.
I ran across these on a Google search.
I may sneak over to the Levis store at Opry Mills and see if they have any of this stuff on the shelf. I hate buying pants without trying them on for size first.

A bit pricy for me. I wear raggedy stuff for my commute and change when I get in. I am fortunate enough to have a place to shower and store a week's worth of close. If I didn't have the resource I would probably carry clothes in each day. Sprocket goo, road grit, saddle bleed (not to mention the occasional rip) are all too probable for me to risk ruining a "commuter" garb that costs more than my dressy stuff.

I haven't worn any of the Levi's stuff, but I have 3 pairs of jeans plus some additional stuff from SWRVE and they are the best jeans on or off the bike I've owned. The gusseted crotch makes them super comfortable and doesn't bunch up. That to me is more important then a couple reflectors here and there. The Levi's don't seem to have that, but I've heard great things about the odor-resistant part of them.

I have two of the 511 Skinny Commuter jeans and two of the 511 skinny commuter trousers. The jeans are quite snug, even buying one size up. There is stretch in the fabric. Good quality. Warm enough for a Pacific Northwest fall-winter-spring. I prefer the trousers: They are not as snug, a lot more comfortable. I didn't have to buy larger than my size. Also dressier. All of them work in a "corporate casual" office. My bike commute is quite short. But I have worn the jeans on group rides, too. I'll be adding another pair of trousers.

I went to the local Levis Store, they didn't have anything in the Commuter series. I may order 1 online and give'em a try.
[edit to add] wehigh, thanks for the lead on SWRVE, I was unaware of them. https://swrve.us.s133956.gridserver.com/

incazzare.
I was looking into these. I'm a little put off by the fact that they cost $80 a pair... I hope they last a long time at that price.

Descends like a rock
If I remember right, last time this was posted everyone joked about skinny jeans
They look interesting. If my commute were shorter, I might try something like that. Even at only 10mi, I have to change clothes when I arrive. I could slow down, I guess, but then it would take forever to get to work.

Quite durable. The jeans came with a tag that recommended they be worn "as long as possible" before washing. Similar to the raw denim jeans I've heard of. I wore them for at least 3 months before washing. I kept swapping between the jeans and 1 pair of trousers for fall-winter-spring last year. They've been used a lot and they've held up very well.
