Airzound extension tube
I read on this forum that someone successfully used model airplane fuel tube to extend the tube for an Airzound horn. I tried this and it worked for about three weeks, but last night, as I was filling the horn, the line burst.
I'd just buy the officially sanctioned tube from Delta Cycle but there is something galling about paying $4.99 shipping for a part that costs $4.99 and then, adding insult to shipping charge, having to wait over 2 weeks for them to get around to sending you the thing.
Anybody else successfully extend the tube on an Airzound w/o resorting to the official tube? Or am I just being spoiled by Amazon Prime?

read the back of the package, talk to them..
I only had to ask and they sent a couple barbed repair connectors,
to fix an accidental cut in the tube.

May I ask when you get the Extetion from Delta, could you take some photos of it, they don't have any photos on their site of it. Pre-instillation and post. I love my AirZound but would like it if I could mount it somewhere under my rear rack.

I ordered the extension tube same day I posted. Delivery was faster than expected, but still pretty slow: 9 days total.
Here're the pics you asked for. I put it on the bike on the rear rack, but it's too dark to get a good image. I'll try tomorrow afternoon when there's better light. The overall length is just under 24" (23 7/8" to be exact). This was too short for how I originally routed the tube through the downtube. I had to settle for running it down the top tube. For the dough they're charging, it seems a little chintzy.
I tried to show in the second picture how the coupler is glued to the extension tube. Just for good measure, I threw a little CA gel on the coupler before attaching to my original tube.

So you cut the original hose then plastic connector and added hose? does it come with the glue or is that your added bit? How long is it now?

Yes, you cut the original hose. The couplers came already glued into the extension tube; there was no extra glue included. I did not feel the coupler fit tightly enough around the original hose, so I added some of my own CA gel to make sure the seal was airtight.
The original length was about 28 inches. This would not reach from the back of the bike to the front. The extra 24" is pretty much exactly the length of my top tube, so the original hose gets me from the rack to the frame, and then from the top tube up the handlebar.

Hi there, We have Ice recumbent trikes & would like to add airzound horns. I think I can mount the horn no problem but like you would want to mount behind my seat so need longer tube. I see that they have a 35" extension but before we spend $4.99 +$4.99 shipping for a piece of tubing & couple of nipples did you try & buy hosing from any other place locally? What is the diameter of the tubing?

@arlmar
I bought model airplane fuel tubing and barbed connectors from a local hobby shop. The bottle would not stay pressurized over more than two or three days (slow leak). One day, after I'd been using this set up for a couple of weeks, I brought the system up to pressure and the fuel line ruptured; it simply can't handle 80psi.
That's what led me to shelling out the dough for the official extension tube.
