    Buying advice for a commuter

    Hi all,

I'm new to the boards but I am looking for advice on maximizing my payoff on a $550 credit at performance bikes. I had a 2008 scattante roma for the past 4.5 years as a workhorse bad weather commuter. About two weeks ago the frame cracked. Through their lifetime warranty, I now have $550 in credit at performance bikes in DE. Any advice concerning a) getting another workhorse or b) maximizing value by storing it until spring/summer and selling?

Any and all help is welcome.

I take it that your particular model is no longer available or they should've offered you a new frame and swapped all of your current parts on to it.... and given the current prices on bikes, I think I'd still be inclined for them to find a suitable frame, even if not the exact same one.

Yes, the same frame is no longer available so they gave me $550 in store credit
