Post pictures of your stolen bike.

My bike was stolen yesterday in the neighborhood of Chelsea in Manhattan yesterday. I figured I'd give him my respects and start a new thread.

I'll miss ya buddy.

Sorry, stayfed. It happens a lot in the city.
I use two u-locks for the front and back wheels and a kryptonite cable through the seat and around the bars. I put a plastic bag over the seat when it's parked to make it look like crap. Overnight outside is a no-no.

So sorry to hear about that. I just don't understand how that happens in broad daylight when its locked up to something. I guess my city isn't much of a city compared to NY. Get yourself another one and guard it with everything you can.

Hoboken just busted a professional bike theft ring from NYC. Two vans full of stolen bikes. It's conceivable that yours is one of them.

in Stockholm, we've seen a team eight guys throw a bike rack+bikes in the back of a MB Sprinter van.

the whole thing seemed ridiculous.

What happened to the good ole days when a man could club another man to death for stealing his steed? Or was it by hanging?

No way, I would have left that out, even if it was locked. Didn't see a full shot of the bike, but I can see it had brifters and was pretty handsome. You should only lock up old beaters. If had that bike, and if I did lock it up, I would be looking at it from a window or something. No way it would be out of my sight, even with a lock.

Sorry for your loss, but please, learn something from this loss!!

A good friend of mine had his bike taken, and a day later when he was waiting for the light to switch at a crosswalk he saw his bike pass by loaded on the pickup of a van, also in Stockholm :/

Shooting or hanging. I would prefer that it was still like that.

I've already begun the process of building a new commuter / road bike rolling. I will be posting pictures here: https://flic.kr/s/aHsjDdhgLs and on this forum. Cheers.
