Wow, I join the cold front chorus: 67F/19C headwind but I did not mind a bit!

When I woke up this morning, I was chilled to the bone and thought that this morning was going to be colder than yesterday's 9C (49F) start but it was milder, 12C (54F). The problem was that my wife put an extra blanket on last night and about 2hrs later, I woke up too warm so I tossed of the blanket and slept under the sheet. Unbeknownst to me, she woke up, also too warm and turned on the fan to blow cool air in from outside. Well, she was fine but I woke up to the alarm feeling chilled to the bone which is why I thought it was going to be cooler outside this morning.

It will be nicer this afternoon but cooler than normal for this time of year, 24C (75F). Hopefully, it will get better for the first 2 weeks of August, our holidays.

Well, a really nice commute this morning, 51degF and fairly calm winds. It is the first time in over a week back on the bike due to job assignments. Trying to figure out my new commute route that I will need as I've got a nice job offer that I will be accepting but its completely across the city to the other side and 4 lane fast traffic will not be doable for me. I will need some time to figure it all out.

Cold morning at 8°celcius. Still a big headwind this morning. I wore the long pants this morning with the headwind at 8 celcius I was glad I did. Very sunny sky so, again, nice commute.

Going anywhere?

I'll be visiting Ontario (Prince Edward county at the Sandbanks provincial park) with the family on the second week of august. It's still to far from Sudbury or I would've drop by to say hello in person.

Around 13C/55F, sunny, and low winds for the morning commute. T-shirt and shorts weather. Actually, I passed another cyclist wearing long pants and a windbreaker...I started overheating just looking at him.

@parkersdad I agree it was 67.5degrees here. It felt good riding this morning to work. I was like I am ready for some fall temps.

I also was riding on my new tires. Michelin City with protect guard. They rolled pretty fast and smooth I felt this morning.

I had to run and obstacle course today on the way to work. I had to pick my bike up and carry it up and down stairs where they have blocked off the strollway. Plus the City has dug up a lane of traffic on one city street. It made things interesting but still had a good ride/ time.

Seemed like more people drove close to me today. I hope that is not true for this evening.

Finally back on the bike this week after almost a month off. Illness, travel north to funerals, and never ending rain were all the blame for all the time away. Today was a good one, overcast and fairly cool (middle 70's) this morning, then the rain came in about 10:00 and lasted through lunchtime. But, by 5pm, the roads were dry, the overcast was back and the wind was from the WNW. Made for a pretty good ride home, 15.9 average speed over the 15.4 mile distance round trip. Happy to be back on the bike this week.

I hate tourist season in DC.

Long story sahort, a colleague and I got caught in a taxi-parked car pincer movement on the way home last night. Idiot went to make a uturn, did not check his side mirror, and closed us in as we swung wide right to make the turn. I hit the brakes, colleague ran into me and she had her hand caught for a sec between her bar and his minivan.

I told him to use his eyes and his mirrors more effectively...a US PArk police car pulled up as well. We were fine no damage and we rode on.

Nice cool ride in this morning!

Yesterday was my official first commute to the new job, and it was amazing. It was so quiet and about 65 F which felt great. Today I'm about to leave, using clipless for the first time and in the rain for the first time. I can already tell this is going to change the way I get from A to B.

Nicest commute of the summer! Cool temps in mid-60s, but more importantly -- low humidity. I still worked up a good sweat because I pushed the pace. Rode my touring bike and it's a real workout going fast on it, but I felt good after taking the day off riding yesterday. Plan to take it easy riding home this afternoon so my legs have something left for the long weekend rides.

Perfect weather, but blarrrgh stoopud traffic lights. I usually only hit about 4 reds, this morning I hit 10. Oh well, still better than driving!

Cool and little more humid that yesterday. Today marks my 1st official week of riding all 5 days. Celebrate with me! People at work believe that I am crazy but they are impressed with the riding.

I was not sure I would have been able to do it but last night as I was tacking an extra 4 miles to my long commute home. I realized that I really enjoy bike commuting over driving. Takes a little longer than driving but it clears my head in the morning and evening. I am able to be outside, focusing on pedaling/ moving myself along. I am going camping and have two days off next week so I guess I commute next on Wednesday. I think that the legs will enjoy some rest.

Congrats!! I'm still only biking 3 days/week (for now) and all my colleagues are impressed even with that. It's fun being different than everybody else.

I rode 4 days last week and this week I said I wonder if I can do five. The weather cooperated and my body held up to the task. So I am looking at 121 miles for the week when I ride home today. Not to shabby.

Similar conditions to yesterday, 13C (55F) with a slight breeze; clear sky so the sun was nice to see. Forecasting rain or showers this afternoon.

Cyclocomputer failed on the way home yesterday, don't know why but I am wondering if it might be the battery, it has been a long time since I replaced it so I'm hoping that is the case. It has done me well, several years at least which is not bad for a $30 Nashbar device. It is showing the time but it read the magnet for a few seconds yesterday afternoon at the beginning of the ride and then failed, read for a few seconds this morning and then failed. However, the battery charge indicator shows that it is full, despite the fact that the battery is at least 18mo old.

Very cool. Sounds like we've got a similar length commute. If I were to commute 5 days, I'd rack up between 124-136 miles in a week (depending on if I take my shortest or scenic route). So I know that's no small feat. Good work.

Excellent for my second commute ever, and second of the week. Rain held off, mid 60s and somewhat overcast and today's commute in was quicker than Wednesday's. Only problem is somehow I forgot my deodorant .... Thought I had left it at the office and can't find it.
