Finding a shower near work - NYC edition

I like to combine my road racing workouts with my commute to work. This was wonderful at my old job were we had a shower in the office. Unfortunately my new job does not have a shower. I'm considering paying for a gym membership but I'm suffering sticker shock.

I work at the intersection of broadway and houston in nyc. Any gym recommendations? Do you think any of the gyms would be willing to cut me a deal for shower only usage?

thanks

My recommendation if you have a place to change clothes at work:
Huggies wipe down. Save megabucks.

If you don't mind biking up to 25th street between 8th and 9th avenue..the Chelsea Rec center is what I use..it's $150/yr..you can bike there, shower and take it easy heading back downtown.

Yes there are many ways to take a quick shower. If none of that works, you can always resort to deodorant over offending parts.

I have to agree... even if I had the time... a shower upon rising, another after my commute and another at days end... ... but NYC does that to people. That's why I got out. You really should be ok with some deodorant applied to hot spots in the mens room at work, even if there is a shower there, provided you showered at home before the ride. That would be my choice. If you choose not to shower at home and instead use the showers at work, please, TURN OFF THE WATER WHEN YOU ARE DONE!!
