I did one around Frankfurt last summer for you guys ... just for a quick repeat ...

I started by riding to central station (hauptbahnhof) to drop off my gf at her train.

She's taking the new ICE to a choir performance (she sings)

    Attachment 256547

That 330 means that the trains are rated for 330kph continuous operation (207mph) but they only run at 300kph max currently

    Attachment 256548

I left central station and went by the ECB (European Central Bank) and Occupy is still there

    Attachment 256550

I rode through the shopping area and by a remaining section of the original city wall

    Attachment 256551

and by the police station (I really like the color and texture of the bricks) but the repetition of the building is intense

    Attachment 256552

There's a hill at the end of my commute that leads to the standard 50s-era Chemistry buildings in Germany

    Attachment 256553

after working 30 min, i finished my work and because the weather was nice took the "long way home."

I cut to the west part of the city by going through Nidda Park (which is quite nice to have so close to the city ... Frankfurt is really in the middle of nowhere as can be seen here.)

    Attachment 256554

You have to pay attention for low bridges (1.8m isn't so high ... i think my frame is 60cm alone) but the signage is quite good

    Attachment 256555

the trip through the park dumps the rider out in Frankfurt-Höchst. The pathway follows the shore of the Main (the big river in the photo).

i didn't realize that you could ride around inside the industrial park in Höchst (and there were a huge amount of people riding through here)

    interesting juxtaposition of old mansions...

    right next to modern bridges.

big match today Germany v. Denmark (a lot of flags are out today!)

    Attachment 256569

one of the many hydroelectric dams. very convenient because that serve as bridges to change sides of the river (pedestrians can cross.)

    Attachment 256570

I ended up in the western harbor area of the city which is quite nice (would mind living over there.)

    Attachment 256571

I quite the fan of their architectural selections.

    Attachment 256572

pedestrian bridge with the new ECB being built in the background (over 125m high)

    Attachment 256573

a lot of people out today which is nice! I live about 100m from the shore, near where the bridge ends

Too bad. They are amazing photos and I find them very interesting.

Here's a thought. I think the file sizes are too big. Try reducing each photo to 1280x1024 pixels or even 1024X ? In other words, small medium size format.
Then copy and paste your existing text posts in a word processing document or blank email msg.
Start a new post and use the smaller sized photos with the descriptive captions.
I think you can attach up to 12 photos per post.
If not, one can just click on each link to load the pics individually. Takes more time and some of the big picture effect is lost.
    Thanks for sharing.

Last summer, I cooked up the idea of riding every road in my town (a mid-sized suburban Florida town that's not actually the city in my username.) I was surprised to find that there are quite a few more roads than I thought, despite the town measuring only about 35 square miles. I still haven't completed the town-wide tour, but it's an fun exercise and I've found a few cool points of interest along the way.

No, it's not a very picturesque place, just a typical suburb.
