With that in mind, here's another couple for the OP to check out. The first is currently available, the second hasn't hit the market yet.
Kona Project 2 backpack- built by Brenthaven, features a built-in light.
Torch Flux backpack- has a built-in fiber optic light panel w/removable USB power supply. They have a youtube vid of it on their site if you want to navigate around to find it.
And going back to snag the link for the Torch product, it appears they are now available- with a $60 price reduction.

I am probably going to get the Osprey Metron:
it seems to have the best balance of function (a lot) and style (some?). I am tired of backpacks with a million straps hanging out everywhere; packs that are built for extreme ice climbing or some something. I prefer something simple, like the ortlieb velocity, but it looks like that would be too heavy, lead to a very sweaty back, and does not have the cell phone pocket on the front strap which seems very useful.
This pack also fits a 17" laptop, which no others seem to mention. I just wish had a mesh back, and slightly cleaner lines.

Expensive, but will last forever, is extremely comfortable, carries a lifetime warranty and if you're willing to spend for the accessories the bag is very flexible for different uses. I used mine for carrying (2) laptops, as a carry on, camera gear, and grocery shopping.
The only reason I stop using it for biking is because the bag can fit so much that it started to affect my center of gravity too much. I use to load it up with close to 15-20 pounds consistently.

yea it was between the medio and the tres, but I went with the tres because its expandable for when i need more room for food shopping and what not
