Who commutes more than 15 miles each way?

My commute to work is 21 miles each way. I only do the complete commute a couple of times a week from spring to fall. I do have an option of taking a bus 8 miles which makes the commute more reasonable. It is a different direction and the ride is not as enjoyable.
I was wondering who bike commutes more than 15 miles each way? How often do you make this commute? And do you use multiple options like public transportation?

My commute is 15.3 miles so by your standard it is more than 15 miles but only by a hair. I just started commuting and I plan on doing it 3+ times a week. We'll see how summer pans out with 100+ degree weather. I also ride 10-18 miles at lunch with my co-workers.

My new commute will be just under the mark at 14.5, but it is on a relatively flat valley floor (along the Colorado River). I'll be moving this Summer to within a few miles, so will be augmenting my shorter commute with longer road rides.

I've done a 25-26 mile RT commute 5 days a week, year round, and found it to be a great distance. 21 miles each way is a big step up, and I think a goal of 3 days a week is reasonable.

My office is in another city, which is about 70 miles away. I go there by bike once a week and bike home the next day, 50 miles each way. For the rest 20 miles i take a suburban train, to avoid riding in city traffic and save some time. So it's 100 miles of bicycle commuting per week.

I'm right at 15 miles each way, but that is only the riding portions. I also have a train leg in there each way. I do it 5 days a week.

14.8 with ~1000' of gain for my shortest route.
19.8 with the same elevation for my current favourite route home.

I aim for 4 days a week, but it usually becomes 3 for one reason or another.

Mine is about 17.5 each way, with ~1200ft elevation gain each way. Most of that is in a span of about 3 miles. Today was my first commute of the year, it was rough!

19 mi each way. In the summer, I do it 2-4x/week; through the winter, only on the best of days.

21 miles one way. I ride the whole distance in the AM, and I catch a commuter train in the PM. I average roughly 30mi a day. 4 times a week.

17.1 miles one way on rural roads and highways....4-5 days a week...about 5000 miles a year...but who's counting. No mass transit available but I do have a rideshare commute pass that lets me get a free cab ride home if I have an bike problem or emergency...haven't needed to use it since I got it 3 years ago.

I found this to be a good compromise also. The morning is the best part of the ride.

My commute is 18 miles one way. For 2013 I set myself the goal to commute by bike at least 2 times a week. The bad part is that I have to get up earlier and arrive home later, but the good part is that I get to ride my bike

My commute is 22.5 miles each way. http://app.strava.com/activities/42511617 Typical week is four commute round trips. I have a public transit option so on occasion I take my bike on the train in the morning and cycle home, or the other way around depending on my schedule.

The train route runs parallel to my commute route so if I did have a mechanical failure, can always walk a mile or so over to a light rail station to continue the trip. Never needed to do that, buts it's nice to have that option.

My route only has a couple hundred feet of elevation difference and much of it is on a bikeway. Very easy commuting.

No, I live in Cedar Hills (Beaverton) and work right by the Portland Airport. Same dang West Hills though! Do you take that route as well?

Mine is ~14 miles each way, if I take the most direct route on the MUPs. Weather and work schedule permitting, I'll knock out ~4 round trips a week. I will go in via car one day with clean clothes, and return another day with the dirty clothes. And, in the summer, I'll take the road bike and extend the journey.

18 miles each way, ~2000 feet of climbing round-trip. I did it every day last year and have only missed one day so far this year.

Mine is 12 miles in (a short path to work on time) and from 15 to 23 miles back depending on a lot of things With me it is over 60% off-road and the rest road and I usually do 3-4 times/week spring-fall. There is no safe or passable path to work for me in the winter with snow.

I'm just barely over 15 miles, with my round trip commute ranging from 30.4 to 31.5 miles depending on which route I take. I ride 3-5 days a week, year-round. My biggest impediment is precipitation as I don't like riding in rain, fog, sleet, ice, snow, etc. If the weather is dry, I almost always ride. We generally don't get that many rainy days around here, so I don't miss many commutes due to the weather. However, it rained 14 out of 28 days in February, but I still managed to commute about 20 days because the rain was very light or didn't fall during my commute times. Public transit is not an option for me, so if I don't ride to work, I have to drive.

17 miles each way (27.4 kms). This winter I managed to commute by bike 40% of the time (14 time out of 35 work days) but with spring coming soon I will ride my bike 100% of the time, I only work 4 days/week.

my usual route is ~14.5 miles one way, just shy of 15 miles. i typically ride it 5 days a week, though in winter the average is probably closer to 4 days a week.
The first rule: if you're riding a bike and not having fun, then you're doing it wrong.

My commute is 22 miles each way with just over 3000 ft of climbing for the round trip (1200 coming in, 1800 going home). I used to do it 5 days/week year round, but the 3-4 hours of commuting/day took it toll both physically and on family time/quality of life issues. Nowadays, I rarely make the round trip commute. I typically cycle in since I prefer the morning ride and take public transportation going home. This ends up being about 25 miles/day of cycling which is enough for me.

My multi-modal commute is 15.4 miles.
Typically, my bike only mileage is about 10 per a day. The rest is on public transit (MTA bus).
I've ridden the entire route a couple of times and intend to do so more often when the weather breaks and school is out (I have to get a high-schooler out the door every morning).
I've driven my car to the office only 5x since May 21, 2012.
Nashville, like L.A. without a tan.
