Only thing I'd be worried about here in NYC is visibility of the trailer to traffic. I really really want to go on bike rides with the family. I guess I could get one of those flags.

Flags always, I am actually thinking of replacing that tiny red little flag with a DIY larger one. Yesterday I saw such, big yellow triangular banner (more than half meter in the widest section), it attracts attention way better, too much visual noise on the busy streets to recognize that small little thing.
