What happened to Pacific Outdoor Equipment website/company?

My wife just got a POE pannier that she really likes from Amazon about 2 weeks ago. Now it's not on Amazon anymore, and any attempts to go to POE's apparent website is met with a GoDaddy.com page - meaning the site is gone.

Are they not a company anymore? Get bought out? What gives? There is still a bunch of their stuff on Amazon.

Apparently POE is history.

Search and you'll find reports of POE disappearing with no recourse for disappointed owners of POE gear.

Hyalite has some relationship to POE and still sells gear that is essentially rebadged POE gear.

i tried googling to see if i could find some info on the companies and their transferring over, but apparently details are sketchy! lol.

figures we'd buy something from a defunct company.

So what? What would you want a functioning company to do for your wife's pannier?

uh, it was more a commentary on the kind of luck we (and i'm sure other people) have when buying things in general. you know, like "oh great! just my luck!" and laugh it off.

also a functioning company could offer customer support if it turned out to be defective.

If someone is looking for replacement parts for the rack hardware of either POE or Hyalite panniers, go to VeloFred online for the appropriate Rixen & Kaul products: Rixen & Kaul . If anything is likely to break , it'll either be the twist hooks or the lower catch hook: KLICKfix Twist Hooks with blue catch - pair or KLICKfix Rixen & Kaul Lower Catch Hook with a Screw . The triangle plate is also available: KLICKfix Triangle plate with screw .

Glass reinforced polyamide is pretty tough stuff so you're not likely to need replacements for a long stretch of time -- but it doesn't hurt to have spares on hand just in case.
