Replacing my recent stolen commuter... advice would be appreciated :-)

HI all,

New to the forum, but none the less have been a casula cyclist all of my life.

For the last 3 years I have been doing a short 5 mile commute, on my reliable 90's Marin Larkspur, with a few upgraded component (tyres being the biggy, we love our pot holes in the UK!)

The bike also proved a favourite for my 2 year old daughter's child seat, and we would go out every weekend on it to her swimming and tumble tots classes. Attaching her to my home built fixie on a 70's 531 touring frame is not an option ;-)

Unfortunately, our friendly neighbourhood thief decided that it was time for me too look for a new bike earlier tyhis week.

I have been happily using the fixie to get to the office this week, and the car for my daughter this wknd, but need to replace the all rounder bike.

Any tips?

I would like something relatively sporty, but probably no less than 35c tyres, as we go on light trails a lot. Equally anything too slow and rugged, and I guess I would never use it for work (and struggle to justify the cost to the wife/boss ;-)

Thanks all, I am eager to hear back

Have a Shop that sells rebuilt 2nd hand Bikes ? Riding with your children, a Hybrid , with flat bars ,
and With the child seat, a step through type , is ideal..

maybe a Bak fiets , haul the weeks groceries in 1 go, your child in there too, right in front of You.
