A camera that doesn't suck is nice, but mostly I try to shoot a lot (really a lot) and then throw most of them away. Really. The garbbage can is your friend.

Yes, this Oregon, along the Columbia River Gorge. There is so wonderful riding there.
As for Photoshop, I pretty much give everything just a kiss of some sort, depending on what I need to make it look like what I thought I was seeing when i shot it.
Except I rarely do any red eye, teeth or hair work. Generally just tonal stuff. Every once in a while I go overboard just for fun, but usually I'm just thinking photoshop is my darkroom.

I was cleaning out some pictures off my phone and came across this photo I took shorty after I started bike commuting last summer. This is from a MUP in the Presidio on the way to the Golden Gate Bridge on my way home. Afternoons like this is part of what helped motivate me to really get into bike commuting.

I laugh as a guy like that would not be uncommon to see on this route, though at the times I typically go back and fourth its much quieter.
I often wonder if they will really give a bike a speeding ticket on the Golden Gate Bridge - I don't go as fast as may people do, but on the decent I do go above the 15 mph limit. During the summer it can get quite congested at times so its hard to go fast safely.

It's been over 11 years since I drove across the GG bridge, is it really a 15 MPH speed limit across there? I don't recall going that slow.

I should have clarified, its a 15 MPH limit for BIKES on the "bike lanes" aka sidewalks. For cars it is 45 MPH. They do have an radar sign that shows you how fast you are going on the downhill part on both sides...I think more riders take that as a challenge then a limit then.

This week, the sun has been beautiful but the temperatures have been cold (-25C overnight, generally -10C during the day). This photo was taken at -4C, tomorrow's forecasted high is -1C, -5C on the weekend and +1C on Monday, a sign that spring is coming. However, after Monday, the forecast is cold again.
The 2km skating track you see on the lake has lasted this year, longer than any previous year that I can remember, and will likely last at least another week, if not more.

The bridge supports a rail road. Aqueduct would be great! The path underneath is a greenway/MUP. The path follows the rail road and a stream through a wooded area for several miles. It's very pleasant. Knoxville has some great greenways/MUPs but they often don't connect to each other and aren't very long, necessitating a good bit of road travel which doesn't really bother me, but could deter other potential commuters etc.

Our city has a few paths, developing more, but the problem is the same, even the finished ones don't connect. One ends at Kelly Lake Road, another starts, also on Kelly Lake Road but about 500m/yd down Kelly Lake Road, a narrow, badly chewed up with heavy industrial traffic, no bike lane or paved shoulder, road. The "Grannies on Bikes" group has petitioned the city to consider creating bike lanes to connect paths like these two and I think the city has responded positively.
