Weather in Potland,Or.?
I'm thinking about moving to Portland,Or. because..well...all of a sudden it just feels like a good I dea.
Just wanted to know what the weather is like year round. Does it rain as much as I've heard?

It rains more, in terms of measurable amounts, on the east coast --
it just drizzles for months in the PacNW.
As far as Potland goes... it's always sunny there

Tis correct, doesn't rain a huge quantity, just drizzles for days, sometimes weeks, on end during the winter. Summers are pretty dry though, and pretty warm.

Portland and Seattle are very similar in climate, and both places have great cycling communities. August through October are the nicest dry months. During the rest of the year, Grey skies are most likely, drizzle is second, and mist is third. Big splatty raindrops just make everything suck, but that doesn't happen as much.

Two days of snow a year (maybe); between October and June you sometimes / often have to ride in the rain, but it's almost always light rain. July through September are usually dry w/ low humidity, very nice. Yesterday it was like 70 degrees in Portland, I was out riding in short sleeves.

Rain, rain makes things green. Including teeth. As above quotes have related, wet winters and springs are normal. Wonderful scenery. Many cyclists and bike related activities and shops. Many bike paths. Can have some cold winter days with ice once or twice.

Ya it's the bike community I'm interested in. The rain was a slight concern. I really do want to check Portland out!

We visited and loved it. The next year, we couldn't think of any better place to go, so we went back!
If I ever had the chance, like a great job offer... I'd move there in a heartbeat.
